Great Horned Owl | Oklahoma
Easily one of my favorite images to date. The combination of colors, the gnarled branches of this tree, and one of my favorite subjects all came together for one of my most cherished shots. The small ear tufts of this Great-horned Owl just look like small extensions of the tree and I love it. I spent a decent amount of effort following this owl up a rocky hillside only to lead to an encounter with some elk as well. Too many awesome things happened back to back for this to not be an all-time favorite for me.
