I sat completely still in the brush for 45 minutes waiting on a pair of Gadwall to swim close to me. I had just narrowly missed a close encounter with two wood ducks and wasn’t about to miss another chance by spooking the birds early. Waterfowl have excellent eyesight, so they will easily spook when you get close. While this duck did not get incredibly close, the environment made for a nice frame.
